SABRENET
EDC are very proud to be involved in St Peters Girls College Middle School Project. Stage 1 has just reached completion, with Stage 2 to continue directly. The design by Swanbury Penglase and built by Sarah Construction is light, bright and contemporary, featuring large open spaces that allow for teachers and students from different classes to better interact together. The building also has direct access to the school oval which can be overlooked from a new deck.
The various spaces including class rooms, a stage area, shared learning spaces and relaxation zones are playful in their design whilst utilising finishes to assist with keeping noise to a minimum. The perforated acoustic panelling wrapping up walls and across ceilings works with the acoustic panelling on partitions, and carpeting to keep noise to a minimum.
This technologically advanced teaching and learning space integrates electronic touch screens on all televisions, monitors and hand-held devices, allowing work being presented by teaching staff to interact with student work instantly.
The lighting specified includes LED ambient lighting, strip up and down LED lighting to highlight the architectural forms of the light wells, LED downlights, feature pendants and feature spot lights. These elements were beautifully installed into the acoustic panelling by EDC to give a seamless finish.
EDC were also responsible for all electrical and data cabling in this technologically advanced teaching environment.
Congratulations to all involved in creating such a fantastic educational setting. EDC happy to say that we will continue to be involved with the project as we head in to Stage 2.
